Congress' Jagdish Tytler gets anticipatory bail in 1984 anti-Sikh riots case

A Delhi court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in a case related to the Pul Bangash killings during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Additional Sessions Judge Vikas Dhull ordered Tytler to furnish a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh and directed him not to tamper with the evidence in the case or leave the country without its permission.

IIM Act Amendment Bill 2023: All you need to know about its main features

Amid the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament, the Lok Sabha passed the Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill, 2023 on July 28. The bill to amend the IIM Act of 2017 was introduced in the Upper House amid disruptions by opposition members over the Manipur violence issue. While the Congress claims that the PMO wants to keep the tightest possible control and ensure "ideological purity," the IIMs are concerned that the amendment will take away their autonomy rather than simply solve accountability.

'Rajasthan Police free to act against Bajrang Dal's Monu Manesar', says Haryana CM Khattar

Nuh violence: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday made a strong statement saying that the state government will make sure that people liable for the Nuh violence will pay for the loss of properties. Khattar today while addressing a press conference asserted that as of now, 20 paramilitary forces have been deployed to avert any unlawful activity in the state. He said that a total of six death has been reported out of which two are police personnel and four civilians. Taking action, police have arrested 116 people and detained 90 others. Apart from this, CM Khattar has asserted that the Rajasthan Police are free to act against Bajrang Dal's Monu Manesar.
