Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will embark on a day-long visit to Kanpur today during which he will flag off the trial run of Kanpur Metro and also review the Zika virus situation. The city has reported more than 100 cases of Zika virus. 
Chennai woke up to heavy rainfall even today, thereby leading to waterlogging in parts of the city. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is likely to continue over parts of Tamil Nadu for the next few days due to depression over the Bay of Bengal. Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede's sister-in-law Harshada Dinanath Redkar on Tuesday filed a complaint against Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik over a tweet posted by him. India recorded 11,466 new cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 460 deaths due to the infection in the past 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday, the country saw a total of 11,961 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate at around 98.25 per cent which is the highest since March 2020 and total recoveries data reached 3,37,87,047.
