Delhi reports highest single-day spike of 7,830 COVID-19 cases

The national capital on Tuesday shattered all previous records after it reported as many as 7,830 new coronavirus cases, and an all-time high positivity rate of 13.26 per cent. As many as 83 people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours in Delhi. Earlier on Saturday, Delhi witnessed a slight drop in the number of coronavirus cases - 6,953; while on Friday, the city had recorded 7,178 new cases.

Gujarat authority seals 13 illegal units at Ahmedabad blast site

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) and Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH) sealed 13 illegal units, running without any permission and without obtaining any permits, in the Nanu Kaka estate, situated on Pirana-Piplaj road in Ahmedabad where the chemical blast claimed more than a dozen lives. The authorities issued notices to 18 other units also.

Delhi records 7,830 coronavirus cases; death toll reaches 7,143

Delhi recorded as many as 7,830 fresh coronavirus cases on Tuesday. With this, the tally of COVID-19 cases in the state has reached over 4.51 lakh, while the death toll mounted to 7,143. Eighty-three fatalities have been recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the latest bulletin issued by the Delhi health department.
