In 2021, extreme weather events accounted for maximum deaths in central part of India, from Maharashtra, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh, India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director-General, Meteorology, Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said on Wednesday (March 2).
