India logs 8,309 COVID cases, over 9900 recoveries; active cases at 544-day low of 1.3 lakh

India reported 8,309 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, along with 236 deaths due to the infection in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry informed on Monday. The country saw a total of 9,905 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,40,08183.
