Maharashtra reported 2,760 new coronavirus cases and five pandemic-related deaths on Saturday, the state health department said. The caseload in the state rose to 80,01,433, and death toll reached 1,47,976.

Telangana weather alert: The state will receive heavy rains for the next two days, said officials at the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre. The weather office warned that many areas might witness flooding, and sounded a 'red alert' for eight districts in the state.

Amarnath Yatra 2022/ Amarnath cloudburst: A cloudburst was reported near the camp of the holy cave shrine. Officials said that the cloudburst hit the cave area at around 5.30 pm after heavy rains. Police and other civil administration have launched a rescue operation as some langars were affected by the gushing waters, the officials said. The gushing waters hit the base camp outside the shrine, damaging 25 tents and three community kitchens where the pilgrims are served food.
