Only Nitin Gadkari can bridge the differences between Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Maharashtra minister and Shiv Sena leader Abdul Sattar said on Tuesday, hinting at the Bihar formula for sharing power in the state. Sattar, a minister of state in the Maharashtra government, made the remarks after a meeting with Gadkari, during which he discussed highway projects in the Marathwada region.

The Goa government on Monday decided to close schools and colleges till January 26 in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases in the coastal state. Besides, the government imposed a night curfew in the state. The curfew orders will be in place from 11 pm to 6 am everyday.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday issued fresh guidelines for sealing buildings in Mumbai amid the COVID-19 case surge. According to the guidelines, the whole building or a wing shall be sealed if more than 20 per cent of the occupied number of flats in the building or wing are found to be COVID positive.
