Omicron Variant LIVE Updates: Telangana reported 3 new cases of the new COVID variant, Omicron in the last 24 hours, according to the state health department. With this, the total number of Omicron cases rose to 41 in the state out of which 10 patients have recovered completely and were discharged from the state-run TIMS hospital. According to the COVID status bulletin by the health department on Saturday, as many as 333 passengers arriving from "At Risk" countries were screened at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on the day. A total of 8 such passengers were found to be COVID positive. All eight samples have been sent for genome sequencing, of which none of the passengers travelling from the "At risk" countries tested positive.3 samples of the passengers travelling from countries other than "At risk" countries were tested positive on a random sampling basis for the Omicron variant. The results of the 5 samples are awaited.India's tally of Omicron cases has surpassed the 400 mark till now.

India logs 7,189 COVID cases, over 7,000 recoveries in 24 hours; active cases decline to 77,032
COVID-19 India Live News Updates: India recorded 7,189 new cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 387 deaths due to the infection in the past 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday, the country saw a total of 7,286 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate at around 98.40 per cent which is the highest since March 2020 and total recoveries data reached to 3,42,23,263.

Omicron Variant LIVE Updates: With the tally of Omicron cases in Maharashtra breaching the 100 mark on Friday (December 24), the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai has issued an order making it mandatory for Mumbai residents arriving from Dubai to undergo a seven-day home quarantine with an RT-PCR test on the seventh day. The travelers who live in other parts of Maharashtra will be able to leave Mumbai on arrival from Dubai, but their transport will be arranged by the collector, it said. In the order issued by BMC yesterday, the travellers who are residents of Mumbai and returning from Dubai also need to take a mandatory RT-PCR test on Day 7. If the result is positive, the traveller will be shifted to an institutional quarantine as per the current guidelines for international travellers. The order further stated that travellers coming from other parts of Maharashtra will not be allowed to take public transport. They will be transferred by the Collector who will arrange transport for such travellers. India has reported more than 350 cases of Omicron so far.
