India reported 8,865 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest in 287 days, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday. With this, India's active caseload stands at 1,30,793, which is the lowest in 525 days.

The Commission for Air Quality Management for Delhi and Surrounding Areas (CAQM) has called a meeting of all Chief Ministers of NCR states and even IGs of Punjab and Haryana on Tuesday in connection with the increased severity of air pollution in the region. The Centre on Monday extended for five years the ban imposed on the Islamic Research Foundation (IRF), headed by India-born preacher Zakir Naik, currently based in Malaysia.
