Air quality in Delhi remains 'severe'; people advised to avoid outdoor activities

The air quality in various parts of the national capital continues to remain in the 'severe category', informed the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) on Monday. As per SAFAR's analysis, an overall air quality index (AQI) of 432 was reported in the national capital today morning.

Chhattisgarh: 4 CRPF jawans killed, 13 injured after colleague opens fire at camp in Sukma

PM Modi assures Centre's support as intense rains batter Chennai; more downpour on forecast

Aided by cyclonic circulation during monsoon, Chennai and nearby regions experienced intense rains in about 24 hours, leading to inundation of most areas on Sunday and opening up of sluice gates of three city reservoirs to let out surplus water. Since the onset of the Northeast monsoon in October, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry regions have experienced about 43 per cent excess rainfall.

Lakhimpur Kheri violence: Supreme Court to hear pleas seeking CBI probe into case

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Monday the matter related to the October 3 Lakhimpur Kheri incident in which eight people, including four farmers, were killed in violence during a farmers’ protest. A bench comprising Chief Justice NV Ramana and justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli would hear the matter.
