BJP national executive meet today; upcoming assembly polls, other key issues on agenda

The BJP's strategy for the upcoming assembly polls in five states will come up for extensive discussion in the party's national executive meeting on Sunday as the key organisational body meets for the first time following the COVID-19 outbreak. Addressing a press conference, BJP general secretary Arun Singh said 124 national executive members, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president JP Nadda and many Union ministers, will attend the meeting physically while the members based in various states, including chief ministers, will join it virtually in line with the COVID protocol.

Mexico: 15 dead after truck crashes into cars at toll booth

A transport truck smashed into at least nine vehicles at a toll booth on a highway in central Mexico Saturday, leaving at least 15 people dead and five injured, firefighters said.

Parts of Delhi may face water crisis today as ammonia levels rise in Yamuna

Parts of the national capital are expected to face a severe water crisis today, as ammonia levels have gone up in River Yamuna. The acceptable limit is of 0.5 ppm. Ammonia levels increase frequently in the Yamuna. The high level of ammonia present in the water makes it difficult for aquatic organisms to sufficiently excrete the toxicant, leading to toxic build-up in internal tissues and blood, and potentially death.

Delhi's air quality remains 'severe'; 114 tankers deployed to sprinkle water on roads

The air quality in Delhi continues to remain in the 'severe' category. According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi was found 'severe' at 6:15 am today, with the AQI standing at 436.
