Centre must release GST compensation for states to reduce VAT on fuel, says Sharad Pawar

Delhi witnesses worst post-Diwali AQI in 5 years; smog levels off the charts

Delhi's air quality level plummeted to 462 a day after Diwali on Friday after residents flouted the firecracker ban and emissions from farm fires in the region peaked at 36 per cent. The AQI is the highest in five years. As smog partially blotted out the sun in Delhi and residents complained of itchy throat and watery eyes, the city's Environment Minister Gopal Rai accused the BJP of instigating people to burn crackers by linking it to religion.

Telangana: 32 students take ill after mid-day meal

As many as 32 students fell ill on Friday after having mid-day meals in a school run by the Telangana government. A total of 114 students of the Mandal Parishad Upper Primary School in Dimmadurthi village in Nirmal district took the meals, and 32 of them fell sick, said the district educational officer (DEO) Dr. A.Ravinder Reddy.

Kerala man orders passport cover, finds passport inside pouch

A man in Kerala's Wayanad district has claimed that he was delivered a valid passport by an e-commerce giant along with a passport cover for which he had placed an order a few days ago. Midhun Babu, hailing from Kaniyambetta in Wayanad district, said he had placed the order with Amazon for the passport cover on October 30.
