CBI makes first arrest in corruption case involving ex-Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday arrested one person identified as, Santosh Jagtap, in connection with a case of alleged corruption against former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh, making it the first arrest in the high-profile case, officials said. The CBI took into custody Jagtap, an alleged middleman, from Maharashtra's Thane in the morning, they said, adding that the accused was evading the probe even after the issuance of non-bailable warrants against him last month.
