Kerala rains: Death toll due to flash floods, landslides rises to 38; rescue operations on

The death toll due to the devastating landslides and flash floods that had occurred in south-central districts of Kerala has gone up to 38, as the Navy and NDRF recovered more bodies from the slush and debris. According to the data shared by the state government, the death toll comprises all rain-related incidents since October 12.

Srinagar to begin direct international flights from October 23

Srinagar is set to begin international flight, connecting the city directly with the rest of the world operations, from October 23. Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir Pandurang K Pole on Monday held a meeting regarding the operation of international flights from Srinagar International Airport. Necessary arrangements needed to put in place and management of passengers in view of the COVID-19 pandemic were discussed in the meeting, said an official press release.

Assam on high alert over possible terror strikes by ISI, Al Qaeda

The Assam police have sounded an alert over possible terror strikes by Pakistan's spy agency ISI and terror outfit Al Qaeda. The alert comes over alleged persecution of Muslims in the state, officials said on Monday. In a circular, referring to the reports from the state police's Special Branch, the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Law and Order, told all units of the security forces that the ISI is planning to target individuals including RSS cadres, Army areas in Assam, and other places in India.

EAM Jaishankar holds meet with counterparts of US, Israel, UAE; complementary capabilities discussed

First kid-friendly vaccination centre set up in Delhi with toys, musical items

Delhi has got its first kid-friendly vaccination centre, which comprises toys, electronic and musical items for kids. The toys and other items in the vaccination centre have been kept keeping in mind the waiting time post-vaccination. Commenting on the vaccination centre, Dr Sameer Bhati, Director Star Imaging and Path Labs said, "Keeping in mind the waiting time post-vaccination, we have created a vaccination centre so that kids can play, we have also kept toys, electronic and musical items for kids so that they are kept engaged and the vaccination process is completed."
