A 26-year-old tea-seller has been shot at by a group of boys in an inebriated state following an argument in Safdarjung Enclave area of southwest Delhi, police said on Monday.

Kerala rains: Alert sounded as water level rises across various dams; people shifted to safer locations

Heavy rains in catchment areas and the eastern hilly regions of Kerala have led to a rise in the water levels in various dams across the state. With this, the state government today issued alerts to the public, informing that the shutters of some dams would be raised, which could result in increase in water levels of rivers in the south and central Kerala.

Rail roko agitation: Section 144 imposed in Lucknow; police warn of NSA over disruption of normalcy

In wake of the rail roko agitation, the Lucknow Police have warned of strict action against those who would participate in the protest call by farmer unions. In a statement, the police said those who try to disrupt normalcy will be booked under the National Security Act (NSA). As a precautionary measure, the police have also imposed section 144, which prohibits the gathering of four or more people, in Lucknow.

Noida firm prepares non-lethal weapons, tasers for security forces at LAC

Indian security forces have now been provided non-lethal weapons to tackle the Chinese during violent face-offs along the Line of Actual Control. This comes after the Chinese troops used barbed clubs and tasers against the Indian security forces in the Galwan valley clash. A start-up firm in Noida said soon after the Galwan valley clash, it was tasked by the Indian security forces to provide them equipment to be able to tackle the Chinese and they have provided the solutions in the form of non-lethal weapons inspired by the traditional Indian weapons like the 'Trishul' of Lord Shiva.
