Life, at times, is stranger than fiction. When Rajendra Kashyap, a former village pradhan who was playing the role of King Dashrath, collapsed on stage after pronouncing 14-year-old exile for his son Ram, people clapped and cheered him for his excellent 'acting'.

India logs fresh 14,146 COVID cases, over 19,000 recoveries in 24 hours; active cases decline to 1.95 lakh

India recorded new 14,146 cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 144 deaths due to the infection in the past 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Sunday, the country saw a total of 19,788 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate at around 98.08 per cent and total recoveries to 3,34,19,749.

Early morning rains lash Delhi-NCR; air quality likely to improve

Residents in Delhi on Sunday woke up to a cloudy day with light to moderate intensity showers in several parts of the city and NCR and the national capital territory, which is expected to marginally improve the air quality index over the next few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast rain in the city from around 5 am and it predicted that isolated places across the Capital would see light rain/drizzle "during the next two hours."
