Plea in SC seeks early hearing of case to remove protesting farmers from Delhi borders

In the wake of killing a man at the Singhu border in Haryana's Sonipat on Friday, an application has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking urgent hearing of a plea to remove all protestors from borders of Delhi, where farmers are agitating against the three farm laws. Members of a Sikh group allegedly killed a 32-year-old farm labourer, hacked off his left arm, and tied his body to a metal barricade near the Singhu farm protest site at the Singhu border on Friday.

Congress slams Mandaviya for 'walking in with photographer' while visiting Manmohan at AIIMS

Dawood Ibrahim's aide Riyaz Bhati under Mumbai police scanner in extortion case

Mumbai Police's Crime Branch on Friday informed that it is now looking for underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's aide Riyaz Bhati who has been named in the FIR against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh in an extortion case. "Riyaz Bhati's name is also mentioned in the same FIR which has been registered against Param Bir Singh in an extortion case. But Bhati has disappeared since the crime branch called him for interrogation," the police said.

India logs fresh 15,981 COVID cases, over 17,000 recoveries in 24 hours; active cases decline to 2.01 lakh

India recorded 15,981 new cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 166 deaths due to the infection in the past 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday, the country saw a total of 17,861 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate at around 98.07 per cent and total recoveries to 3,33,99,961.
