Amit Shah to lay foundation stone for NFSU in Goa today, address public meeting

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Goa today to lay the foundation stone for National Forensic Science University. He will also hold a meeting with the leaders of the ruling in the state, where Assembly polls are due in February next year.

Odisha: Boy commits suicide after parents stop him from playing mobile games

In a shocking incident, a 13-year-old boy in Odisha's Koraput district allegedly committed suicide after his parents stopped him from playing games on his mobile phone, the police said on Wednesday. According to the police, the boy was studying in Class 8 at a private school. In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, he was attending online classes on his mobile phone.

Lakhimpur violence: Congress delegation urges President to step in to ensure fair probe, demands sacking

Stepping up pressure over the Lakhimpur incident, a Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi met President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday and urged him to ensure the immediate sacking of Union Minister Ajay Mishra and an impartial judicial probe by two sitting judges of the Supreme Court. Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra's son Ashish Mishra, who has been named in an FIR, was arrested on Saturday by the Uttar Pradesh Police in connection with the mowing down of four farmers on October 3 in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh. "There cannot be an impartial inquiry and justice cannot be given till the time the MoS Home is sacked. "This is the voice of not just the families of those killed but also of all the farmers and this voice is being suppressed," Gandhi said after the Congress leaders presented a memorandum to the President.

Arrested Pakistani terrorist conducted recce of Delhi High Court in 2011; shared information with handlers

Mohammad Ashraf, the Pakistani terrorist who was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police on Tuesday from Laxmi Nagar area, has told police that he had carried out recce of High Court in 2011 before the blasts. It is, however, yet to determine whether he was involved in the blast.
