Karnataka on high alert after intelligence agencies track satellite phone calls

The Karnataka government has been alerted by the intelligence agencies about satellite phone calls made to foreign locations from the coastal area and Malnad region of the state, sources said on Saturday. The phone calls are being tracked to Mudibidre, Mudipu regions in Dakshina Kannada, in dense forest regions of Uttara Kannada and another two locations from Chikkamagaluru district in the state.

Moradabad: Nearly 40 booked for creating ruckus at Majhola police station

Around 40 miscreants are booked for creating ruckus in the Majhola police station of Moradabad district in Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place on October 7. Commenting on the incident, Amit Kumar Anand, superintendent of police (SP), Moradabad said, "Some people created ruckus on October 7 in Majhola police station, they also tried to interfere in the matters of government affairs."

India records 19,740 new Covid-19 cases, 248 deaths in a day; active cases decline to 2.36 lakh

India reported 19,740 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to Health Ministry data showed on Saturday. With fresh cases, the country's overall caseload has mounted to 3,39,35,309. The country also reported 248 deaths due to coronavirus, taking the toll to 4,50,375.
