Andhra Pradesh: 10,000 devotees allowed per day at Kanak Durga Temple for Dasara celebration

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Kanaka Durga temple authorities have said that only 10,000 devotees will be allowed per day on a time slot basis to take blessings of Goddess Kanak Durga during the nine-day Dasara celebrations from October 7 to 15.

CM Basavaraj Bommai inaugurates new Karnataka district Vijayanagar

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday inaugurated the 31st district of the state Vijayanagar in the presence of former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and other special invitees. As part of the inauguration, Bommai laid the foundation for 56 developmental projects worth Rs 337 crore. Bommai announced that Heli-tourism will be promoted in the district. The people would be able to visit the district on Helicopters.

J&K LG inaugurates Wildlife Week, says admin focused on conserving natural resources

The Jammu and Kashmir administration is focused on the conservation and protection of invaluable natural resources, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Saturday while inaugurating the Wildlife Week to be observed from October 2 to 8. Sinha also inaugurated in virtual mode the granting of online permission for entry to Dachigam National Park, Hangul Eco-Stop near Parimahal and released Hangul census report and brochures of Trekking Routes.

Gandhinagar civic polls: Voting for 44 seats in 11 wards today

Campaigning for the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) polls ended on Friday evening, with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel holding a roadshow for the ruling BJP which passed through the state capital. Voting for 44 seats in 11 wards, which were to be held in April but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held between 7 am and 6 pm on October 3, while results will be declared on October 5.

Bhabanipur Election Result LIVE: Stage set for high-stake Mamata vs Priyanka battle

The counting of votes for the West Bengal bypolls will begin in Kolkata at 8 am on Sunday amid heavy security deployment. The polling was held in Bhabanipur, Jangipur and Samserganj assembly constituencies of the state on September 30. Twenty-four companies of central forces have been deployed at the counting centres, and the entire area will be put under CCTV surveillance.
