Haryana BKU (Chaduni) chief Gurnam Singh Chaduni on Thursday said that farmers will protest outside the houses of MPs, MLAs and other leaders of the ruling BJP-JJP combine in the state if the government fails to begin paddy procurement on October 1. Chaduni said that the Centre has postponed the paddy procurement from October 1 to October 11.

Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat on Thursday met his US counterpart General Mark Milley and the two leaders discussed a range of issues, including ways to ensure regional security and their respective roles as principal military advisors to civilian leadership, the Pentagon said.

Former Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh goes missing; reports say he may have fled to Russia
Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh is missing, said Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil on Thursday. There are reports doing the rounds that he has fled to Russia. The Minister, however, didn't confirm this and added that investigating agencies have no information on the whereabouts of Param Bir Singh who is an accused in an alleged money laundering case.
