Delhi terror module: 2 arrested terrorists reveal they were trained in Pak for blasts on bridges, rail tracks

The Delhi Police on Thursday said two out of the six arrested terrorists have revealed they had received training at Thatta in Pakistan to carry out blasts on bridges, railway tracks and large gatherings in India. The two terrorists were identified as Zeeshan and Osama and gave out the information during interrogation. According to the Delhi Police, the passports of both the terrorists were not stamped and they had taken the sea route and had entered through Gwadar Port.

Delhi: Rainfall this season so far highest since 1964; more in store

The bounteous monsoon this year has already dumped 1159.4 mm of rainfall in Delhi till Thursday afternoon, the highest since 1964 and the third-highest ever, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD) data. Also, Delhi's September rainfall has breached the 400 mm mark. At 403 mm till Thursday afternoon, it is the highest precipitation in the month since 417.3 mm in September 1944.

Nainital High Court lifts ban on Chardham Yatra; COVID protocols in place

The Nainital High Court on Thursday lifted the ban on Chardham Yatra. The court has also issued some mandatory COVID-19 protocols to be followed by the devotees. The development comes after the Uttarakhand government had earlier moved Supreme Court, challenging the High Court's stay on the Chardham Yatra. The High Court had expressed dissatisfaction over the state government's preparedness to deal with a possible third wave of COVID-19 and had hence, on June 28, put a stay on a state Cabinet's decision to open the yatra for residents of Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi districts from July 1.

Delhi: Senior nursing officers at private health facilities for COVID-19 to be repatriated

The Delhi government has directed that all senior nursing officers, who were posted in private hospitals for monitoring COVID-19 patients, be sent back to their parent hospitals. "The competent authority is pleased to repatriate all senior Nursing Officers... who were posted as Nodal Officer in various private health care facilities from Delhi Govt. Hospitals to monitor the management of COVID-19 patients along with monitoring the Covid vaccination... to their parent hospitals," the order that was issued last week said.
