UP becomes first state to administer over 9 crore COVID vaccines

Uttar Pradesh has become the first Indian state to inoculate more than nine crore people with COVID vaccines. The state has administered a total of 9.01 crore vaccine doses so far since the launch of the nationwide COVID vaccination drive in January, said the official spokesman on Thursday. The state administered over 3,61,787 doses of vaccine till late on Wednesday, taking the total tally to 9,01,51,915.

A woman in Madhya Pradesh landed herself in trouble after she danced at a busy intersection in Indore. A video of the woman's dance has gone viral on social media, which shows her running across the road to a zebra crossing as cars slowed to a halt after the traffic signal turned red. India logs 30,570 fresh COVID cases, over 38,000 recoveries in 24 hours; active cases decline to 3.42 lakh

India recorded new 30,570 cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 431 deaths due to the infection in the past 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday, the country saw a total of 38,303 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate at around 97.62 per cent and total recoveries to 3,25,60,474.
