Lieutenant General (retd) Gurmit Singh sworn-in as new Governor of Uttarakhand

Gurmit Singh was sworn in on Wednesday as the new governor of Uttarakhand. The oath of office was administered to Singh by the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court Justice RS Chauhan at a simple function held at the Raj Bhawan. Singh, who retired as the Deputy Chief of the Indian Army, is a highly decorated former Army officer.

Gujarat cabinet reshuffle likely today; new ministers to take oath

The Gujarat cabinet is likely to be reshuffled today, sources have said, adding all MLAs were late on Tuesday asked to be present in Gandhinagar. The swearing-in ceremony of the new ministers, whose names are not yet declared, will be held after 2 pm in the capital city Gandhinagar, state party spokesperson Yamal Vyas said. According to the details, all 22 ministers of the Vijay Rupani government will be removed. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, state Cabinet minister RC Faldu and Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama are likely to be dropped from the Gujarat cabinet.

Glenmark concludes post marketing surveillance study on Favipiravir (FabiFlu) in 1000+ COVID patients

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, a research-led, global integrated pharmaceutical company, on Wednesday said the post-marketing surveillance (PMS) study on Favipiravir (FabiFlu) has been concluded. The study was conducted in over 1,000 patients of COVID-19, for which the results showed no new safety signals or concerns with the use of Favipiravir, and already-known side effects such as weakness, gastritis, diarrhoea, vomiting etc., were found to be mild in nature. The time for fever resolution was 4 days, while time for clinical cure was 7 days.

Over 66,000 idols immersed on 5th day of Ganpati festival in Mumbai

A total of 66,299 idols, including 5,953 of Goddess Gauri, were immersed in the sea, rivers, lakes and other water bodies across Mumbai on the fifth day of the Ganpati festival, civic officials said on Wednesday.
