Bhupendra Patel to take oath as Gujarat Chief Minister today

BJP leader Bhupendra Patel will take oath as the 17th Chief Minister of Gujarat today. His swearing in ceremony will take place in the afternoon at 02:20 PM today. Two days after Vijay Rupani's resignation from the top post in the state, Patel was chosen as the new face of Gujarat. The decision came in several months before the Assembly elections in the state due next year iun December. It is believed that Patel holds a strong influence in the Patidar community in Gujarat which the BJP party has banked upon to win the upcoming elections.

Chandni Chowk's new look, new rules: A trip to the 'revamped' tourist hub

Delhi's busy Chandni Chowk wore a "revamped" look on Sunday as Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated the newly redeveloped market while also announcing new rules. Kejriwal said Chandni Chowk has become more beautiful and people come here to walk till midnight, post its redevelopment. The project was supposed to be inaugurated on April 17 this year but was cancelled due to the second Covid-19 wave.

Maharashtra: Over 7 lakh farmers call insurance firms to inform about crop damages due to excessive rain

More than seven lakh farmers in Maharashtra have called up insurance companies during the current monsoon season to inform about crop damage due to excessive rainfall, officials said. Representatives of crop insurance companies need to personally visit the farms and assess the damages, and based on their report, the farmers will get the insurance amount, they said.

Employees demand reunification of Delhi's 3 civic bodies

Private firms can buy coaches soon, run tourist circuit trains

Private parties will soon be able to lease and buy railway coaches to run theme-based cultural, religious and other tourist circuit trains, according to a policy being formulated by the Indian Railways. In a release on Saturday, the railways said that an executive director-level committee has been constituted by the Ministry of Railways to formulate the policy and terms and conditions of the project.
