Farmers' protest: Haryana govt extends suspension of mobile Internet services in Karnal

With protesting farmers continuing their sit-in "indefinitely" at the district headquarters in Karnal, the Haryana government has extended the suspension of mobile Internet services in the district till Thursday midnight, an order issued by the state Home Department said.

The Haryana government has extended ban on mobile internet and SMS services in Karnal in view of ongoing farmers' agitation. "In view of farmers' agitation in Karnal, Haryana Govt suspends mobile internet & SMS services in the district "to stop the spread of misinformation"; the order to remain in effect till 11:59 pm today," an order issued by the Department of Home Affairs, Government of Haryana, said.

India logs 43,263 fresh COVID cases, over 40,000 recoveries in 24 hours; active cases rise to 3.93 lakh

India recorded new 43,263 cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 338 deaths due to the infection in the past 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday, the country saw a total of 40,567 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate at around 97.48 per cent and total recoveries to 3,23,04,618.
