Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday would interact with healthcare workers and beneficiaries of the COVID-19 vaccination program in Himachal Pradesh at 11 AM through video conferencing. Taking to Twitter, PM Modi had said, "Himachal Pradesh has set a benchmark in the fight against COVID-19 by giving the first dose of vaccine to all eligible people. Will have the privilege of interacting with many such beneficiaries and health workers of the state through video conferencing tomorrow at 11 am."

Mizoram: Partial lockdown in Aizawl extended till September 18

The Mizoram government has extended partial lockdown in Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) area and certain COVID-related restrictions in other parts of the state till September 18, with a few relaxations in the curbs, an official said on Sunday. An order related to the COVID curbs was issued as the restrictions, imposed on August 20, were in place till Saturday, he said.

Viral fever significantly rises in Ballia, cases grow by 25% in district hospital

The cases of viral fever in the district hospital here have increased by 25 per cent over the past 10 days, a doctor at the facility said Sunday, amid fears of the spread of dengue. Medical superintendent of the hospital Dr VP Singh said the children's ward is fully occupied with patients. "This is the rainy season when fever, weakness, body pain and diarrhoea patients register a rise, and it is quite natural."

Breathalyser tests for drunk-driving resume in Delhi after a year; over 90 prosecuted so far

With bars and restaurants in the national capital back in business, the Delhi Traffic Police have resumed its drive to check drunk driving and prosecute violators, an officer said on Sunday. After the COVID-19 pandemic started last year, the traffic police had stopped conducting breathalyser tests unless someone was visibly drunk and driving recklessly. To check drunk driving and prevent road accidents, special teams have been deployed at identified spots where liquor is served till late night and parties are organised, the traffic police said.
