Clear dues: SC tells Amrapali home buyers; warns failure may result in cancellation of flats

The Supreme Court on Friday warned that the flat buyers of Amrapali Group who are not clearing their dues as per the payment plan should not be in any kind of delusion as their units can be cancelled and will be considered as unsold inventory. A special bench of Justice UU Lalit and Ajay Rastogi observed that the home buyers are under the impression that the court is facilitating the construction of their stalled flats and managing funds and they are at a convenience to pay their dues, whenever they like.

Lucknow: Lump of hair weighing around 2kg removed from teenager's stomach

A large lump of hair weighing around 2 kg was recovered from the stomach of a 17-year old girl at Lucknow's Balrampur Hospital. Gastro-surgeon Dr SR Samadder performed the operation and said that the girl suffered from the rare disease of Trichobezoar in which the patients eat their own hair by plucking it.

Supreme Court Collegium recommends 16 names to Centre for appointment as judges in Allahabad HC

The Allahabad High Court, which has been working with 93 judges as against the sanctioned strength of 160, may now get 16 more judges whose names have been recommended by the three-member collegium-headed by Chief Justice N V Ramana to the Centre for the judgeship.

NIA files chargesheet against Islamic State terrorist in Al-Hind module case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet against an Islamic State (IS) terrorist in the Al-Hind module case at NIA Special Court in Bengaluru. The chargesheet has been filed on Friday against accused Shihabudeen under Section 120 B of IPC, Section 25 (1) (a) of Arms Act 1959 and sections 18, 20, 38 and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967.
