India logs 41,965 fresh COVID cases, over 33,000 recoveries in 24 hours; active cases rise to 3.78 lakh

India recorded 41,965 new cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 460 deaths due to the infection in the past 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday, the country saw a total of 33,964 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate at around 97.53 per cent and total recoveries to 3,19,93,644.

Rs 125 Coin: PM Modi to release special commemorative coin on ISKCON founder's 125th birth anniversary today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release a special commemorative coin of Rs 125 and also address a gathering on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada on Wednesday through video conference, the PMO said.   Prabhupada had founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) commonly known as the "Hare Krishna movement".

Delhi: 25 per cent healthcare workers found COVID positive despite complete vaccination

More than 25 per cent of healthcare workers in Delhi were found COVID positive despite being fully vaccinated, a study stated. The study, jointly conducted by the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) and Max Hospitals in Delhi-NCR, found that vaccination breakthroughs were far more common during the Delta surge in Delhi than reported previously. This is the first time that such a high percentage has been reported as part of a single study.
