The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered a probe after money was allegedly withdrawn under a state scheme for construction workers using fake death certificates of at least 23 villagers in Chhindwara district, Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel said.

Touching cheeks of a child without sexual intent would not attract the offence of sexual assault, the Bombay High Court said while granting bail to a 46-year-old man accused of sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl. A single bench of Justice Sandeep Shinde on August 27 granted bail to the accused Mohammad Ahmed Ulla arrested on July 2020 by the Rabodi police in the neighbouring Thane district.

Five persons, including a sarpanch, have been arrested for allegedly beating to death a tribal man, accused of theft in Madhya Pradesh's Neemuch on Saturday (August 28). The victim, identified as Kanhaiya Bhil was allegedly thrashed on suspicion of theft and was dragged after being tied to a van. A 36-year old man suffered his demise enroute to Tiruchy from Malaysia onboard an Air India Express flight on Saturday. The flight had taken off from Kuala Lumpur. Man ends life in UP's Banda after testing HIV positive
