PDP only party resisting Centre in Jammu and Kashmir: Mehbooba Mufti
Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said her Peoples Democratic Party was the only party that is resisting the Centre in Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to reporters after meeting party workers in the Pulwama district in south Kashmir, Mehbooba said the Centre is trying to break the PDP by either “offering” its leaders something or using its agencies to intimidate them.

Delhi-NCR wakes up to heavy downpour; more rain, thunderstorm on forecast
Heavy rains lashed parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) in the early hours of Sunday. In the midst of the monsoon season, the national capital has been receiving spells of rain. National weather forecasting agency India Meteorological Department on Sunday morning predicted thunderstorm with moderate to heavy intensity rain over Delhi and NCR.

Karnataka govt extends COVID guidelines for 15 more days; random testing to be increased
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday informed that the government has extended the Covid guidelines till 16 August. Bommai said, "The guidelines imposed till August 2 will be extended for the next 15 days. Seventy-two per cent of school teachers have been vaccinated. In the next 15 days, we will cover 100 per cent."
