Criminal cases have been filed against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, four senior officers of the state police and two more officials over the violent clash that took place on the outskirts of Vairengte town in Mizoram's Kolasib district, police said on Friday. They have been booked under various charges, including an attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy, Mizoram Inspector General of Police (Headquarter) John Neihlaia said.

UP: Wanted gangster Kala Jathedi arrested by Delhi Police in Saharanpur
Delhi Police's Special Cell has arrested wanted gangster Kala Jathedi, who was carrying a reward of Rs 7 lakh. Jathedi was arrested from Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur on Friday, said Manishi Chandra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Counter Intelligence of Special Cell.

Lalan Singh likely to be next JD-U President; party's National Executive Committee meet today
