District authorities in Samba, Ramban and Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday banned the storage, sale or possession of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles. Authorities in Srinagar and border districts of Rajouri and Kathua have already imposed such a ban after the recent terror attack at an IAF station in Jammu with armed drones.

India rejects criticism over Father Stan Swamy's death
India on Tuesday rejected mounting international criticism over the death of rights activist Father Stan Swamy, and said the due process of law was followed in his case and that the authorities act against violations of law and do not restrain legitimate exercise of rights. Asserting that India remains committed to the promotion and protection of human rights of all its citizens, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the country's democratic polity is complemented by an independent judiciary and a range of national and state-level human rights commissions.

Delhi govt has run out of Covid vaccine stock: Manish Sisodia
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday urged the Centre to provide more doses of the coronavirus vaccines for the people of the city as required for the inoculation exercise. The Delhi government's stock of COVID-19 vaccine has run out, Sisodia said. In a tweet, he asserted that in the last two weeks, vaccination was done in the national capital at a "record speed".

Indian Air Force to procure 10 anti-drone systems for border deployment
After a drone attack at the Indian Air Force (IAF) station in Jammu, the force has decided to procure 10 anti-drone systems to stop such attacks in the future in the border areas. The force has floated a Request for Information (RFI) for Indian vendors for Counter Unarmed Aircraft System (CUAS) that can be armed with laser-directed energy weapons to bring down rogue drones.
