The delimitation commission headed by Justice (Retired) Ranjana Prakash Desai is beginning 4-day long visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday to meet representatives of political parties, government offices etc. in order to complete the delimitation process of Assembly seats/Lok Sabha seats so that elections are held in the Union territory.

Himachal Pradesh sees massive inflow of tourists following relaxations in COVID restrictions
Himachal Pradesh has started witnessing an inflow of tourists following relaxation in COVID restrictions by the state government. In less than a month starting from June, there has been traffic of around 6-7 lakh tourists in the Himalayan state. As the number of new COVID cases started declining in the country, tourists have started thronging to the destinations like Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Narkanda and other parts of the state.

COVID 19: People throng Noida hospital to get vaccines, flout norms
People thronged at a hospital in NOIDA flouting the pandemic norms to take their COVID-19 vaccines on Monday. The incident was reported at Government District Hospital, Sector 30, Noida where a large number of people gathered to get their COVID-19 vaccine doses. People were seen not maintaining the social distancing. The hospital administration said that many people could not get vaccinated in the last two days as there was less stock of vaccines. Now after, the sufficient doses provided to the hospital, people gathered to get their jab.

Punjab's excise dept engages IIT-Ropar to audit liquor manufacturing units
Punjab's excise department on Monday said it has engaged IIT-Ropar to conduct an audit of liquor manufacturing units in the state, a move which is aimed to check any pilferage. The excise department has collaborated with an independent agency -- the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar -- to review and audit the working systems of liquor manufacturing units, which include 16 distilleries, four breweries and 25 bottling plants, a spokesperson of the department.

Teacher suspended for sending 'obscene' audio to colleague
A primary school teacher here was suspended for allegedly sending an “obscene” message to his colleague, authorities said on Monday. Vipin Yadav, assistant teacher at the Katahi primary school in Belhari area, sent the audio message to his colleague on April 13 this year, Basic Shiksha Adikari (BSA) Shivnarayan Singh said.

Airlines can operate maximum of 65% pre-Covid domestic flights: Govt
Airlines can now operate a maximum of 65 per cent of their pre-Covid domestic flights instead of the 50 per cent allowed till date, the civil aviation ministry said on Monday. The carriers have been operating only 50 per cent of their pre-Covid domestic flights since June 1 in accordance with a May 28 order of the ministry. Before June 1, the cap was at 80 per cent.
