The Uttarakhand government has ordered an inquiry against all the private labs doing rapid antigen tests after discrepancies were found in COVID-19 testing data during Mahakumbh earlier this year.

Maharashtra: Woman dies while trying to get back snatched mobile phone in Thane; 2 held

A 27-year-old woman travelling in an autorickshaw lost her life when she fell off the vehicle while trying to get back her mobile phone which was snatched by two motorbike-borne men in Thane city, police said on Thursday. The incident took place in the Naupada area on Wednesday night and the two accused were arrested on Thursday, they said.

Rain lashes Mumbai for third straight day, waterlogging at several areas

Heavy rains continued to lash Mumbai and its suburbs with incidents of waterlogging in low-lying areas for the third consecutive day. According to news agency ANI, waterlogging has been reported at Kings Circle in Matunga, Lower Parel, Mahim and pther areas. The Colaba received 23.4 mm rainfall while Santacruz witnessed 107.4 mm rain during the last 24 hours, said the Met department.

Mehul Choksi was unlawfully renditioned from Antigua to Dominica: Lawyer

Indian fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi, who is currently facing the charges of entering Dominica illegally, was "unlawfully renditioned" from Antigua and Barbuda to Dominica so that he would no longer have the option of appealing to the UK Privy Council, his lawyer contended on Thursday. Michael Polak, part of the legal team representing Choksi and an expert in providing legal assistance to foreign nationals around the world, told a virtual news conference that the team has also filed a complaint with the War Crimes Unit of UK's Metropolitan Police on the ground that Choksi was tortured.
