Thrashed, forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' inside Tihar: ISIS member tells court

An alleged ISIS member arrested for planning suicide attacks and serial blasts across the country, approached a Delhi court on Wednesday claiming that he was beaten up by other inmates in Tihar jail and forced to chant 'Jai Shri Ram'. The accused, identified as Rashid Zafar, was arrested in 2018 on the allegations of being a member of an ISIS-inspired group that was planning suicide attacks and serial blasts, targeting politicians as also government installations in Delhi and other parts of north India.

Dominica declares Mehul Choksi as 'prohibited immigrant'

In a massive setback for the Indian fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi, wanted in India in Rs 13,500 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud case, the Dominican government declared him as a "prohibited immigrant" in their country. An order issued by the Ministry of National Security and Home Affairs on May 25 said, "in accordance to section 5(1)(f) of the Immigration and Passport Act Chapter 18:01 of the 2017 Revised laws of the Commonwealth of Dominica, you, Mehul Chinubhai Choksi, are hereby declared a prohibited immigrant."

Uttar Pradesh: 4 killed, 11 injured in bus accident in Agra

At least four people were killed and 11 others injured when a bus rammed into a stationary canter on National Highway-2 at Chhalesar flyover here on Thursday morning, police said. The incident took place around 4:30 am under Etmadpur police station. The Uttar Pradesh roadways bus was going to Agra bus station from Kanpur, they said.
