Two social media promoters were arrested in connection with a case registered over a “doctored” audio clip allegedly defaming the Uttar Pradesh chief minister and the state government, police said on Tuesday.

Yogi's vaccination push: Special booths for auto rickshaw drivers, street vendors

The Uttar Pradesh government will organise special vaccination booths for street vendors, auto-rickshaw drivers, e-rickshaw and rickshaw drivers in a bid to encourage them to take the jabs.  According to an order issued by Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Amit Mohan Prasad, special camps will be organised in all 75 districts from June 14.

India logs 92,596 new COVID cases, 1.62 lakh recoveries in past 24 hours

India on Wednesday recorded 92,596 new cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 2,219 deaths due to the infection. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry, the country saw a total of 1,62,664 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery to 2,75,04,126. The total cases of COVID-19 in India have now mounted to 2,90,89,069, with 12,31,415 active cases, the data showed. The total death toll in the country is now at 3,53,528. A total of 23,90,58,360 people have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in India.

UP: Vials of COVID-19 vaccine go missing from Aligarh's primary health centre

Aligarh police on Tuesday registered a case of missing vials of vaccine from the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Naurangabad. Raghvendra Singh, CO City, Aligarh said "Health Department's official filed a complaint that vials of COVID vaccines are missing from Primary Health Centre in Naurangabad." He further said that a case has been registered at the Gandhi Park police station under the relevant section and an investigation is being done.

Covid: Over 130 Delhi Metro passengers fined for not wearing masks

More than 130 passengers were penalised by Delhi Metro authorities on Tuesday for not wearing a face mask inside trains, officials said. Seventy passengers were also asked to disembark from trains for travelling while standing, they said. The Delhi Metro resumed services after four weeks on Monday in view of the improved COVID-19 situation in the national capital. Trains are operating at 50 per cent seating capacity and passengers are not allowed to travel while standing.

DDA modifies building bye-laws for oxygen plants at Delhi hospitals
