The ongoing COVID-induced curfew in Andhra Pradesh which was in force till June 10 was extended till June 20, announced Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday. The curfew relaxation timings were also changed to 6 am to 2 pm after June 10. During a review meeting held on the prevailing COVID-19 situation and vaccination in the state, the Chief Minister said the working hours of government offices would be from 8 am to 2 pm from June 10 and directed the officials to be on high alert, though the cases were coming down.

Indore hospital stops administering Amphotericin B injections to treat Black Fungus patients
A government hospital in Indore has stopped administering lyophilised Amphotericin B injections to black fungus patients after some of them who received the shots started experiencing side effects. Dr Sanjay Dixit, Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College, Indore, adding that the hospital is now using liposomal Amphotericin B injections to treat such patients.

Tirath Singh Rawat meets PM Modi, apprises him of COVID-19 situation in Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday here and apprised him of the COVID-19 situation in the state and the steps being taken by the state government to contain the spread of infection. In the meeting that lasted for half an hour, stating that Uttarakhand is a Himalayan hill state, the Chief Minister requested a special grant from the Government of India to develop it as a completely organic state.

Jammu & Kashmir’s economy on brink of collapse: Omar Abdullah
National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah on Monday said the economy of Jammu and Kashmir is on the “brink of collapse” as every sector in the union territory has suffered losses in the last two years. Addressing a meeting of the party's constituency in-charges of north Kashmir's Baramulla District at party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha here, Abdullah expressed concern over “the soaring unemployment” in Jammu and Kashmir and the alleged rising incidents of suicide among the youth.

6 injured as explosion rocks plastic paint machine near Bengaluru airport
At least 6 people were injured following an explosion near the underpass of the second terminal of the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. According to the details, the incident occurred early Monday, in a molten plastic paint machine. Two of the six workers, Ajay Kumar and Siraj are critical after suffering over 40 per cent burns, the airport police said. The others were identified as Avinash, Goutam, Prashanth, Nagesh -- all have been admitted to Victoria Hospital.

Noida Traffic police seeks RWA feedback on personnel to improve working
The Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic Police has sought feedback from Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) about its personnel working in their areas in a bid to improve policing as relaxations in Covid curfew got underway in the district on Monday.
