Delhi lockdown to continue with relaxations; markets, malls to open on odd-even basis: CM Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed the media on Saturday on the existing COVID-19 situation in the national capital. Speaking to the media, the chief minister said the lockdown would continue, but with certain relaxations. Shops and malls in Delhi will be allowed to open on an odd-even basis, CM Kejriwal said. For private offices, the chief minister allowed 50 per cent manpower, adding, "work from home should still be encouraged."

Railways to resume 24 passenger trains from today. Check full list

Amid the second wave of the COVID 19 pandemic, several trains were temporarily suspended. The Indian Railways have decided to resume some of these trains again. On June 5 and June 6, Indian Railways have announced to resume 24 passenger trains that were earlier suspended. East Central Railways informed that the services of passenger special trains operating under its jurisdiction are being restored.

Maharashtra: Over 1,100 villages in Nanded district become coronavirus-free

Out of the total 1,604 villages in Nanded district of Maharashtra, as many as 1,179 have become coronavirus-free, while 271 others have not reported even a single infection case during the second wave of the pandemic, an official said. Nanded district has so far recorded over 90,000 coronavirus positive cases and more than 1,800 people have died due to the viral infection till now.

At 1.2 lakh, India logs lowest daily COVID cases in 58 days; active cases dip to 15,55,248

India reported 1,20,529 fresh COVID-19 cases, the lowest single-day rise in infections in around two months, taking the infection tally to 2,86,94,879, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday. The death toll from COVID-19 climbed to 3,44,082 with 3,380 new fatalities, while the number of active cases was recorded below 20 lakh for the fifth consecutive day, the data updated at 8 am showed.

Maharashtra: 5-level unlock plan to be implemented from Monday

Maharashtra has announced a five-level unlock plan beginning Monday, which will be based on Covid positivity rate and the availability of oxygen beds in the state. The state government on Friday issued a five-level restriction plan to reopen the state, which is under a lockdown induced by the devastating second COVID-19 wave over the last few weeks. The degree of relaxation has been decided as per the level of severity of Covid-19 in those districts. According to the guidelines, the situation will be assessed every Thursday by the Public Health Department.
