Maharashtra has announced a five-level unlock plan beginning Monday, which will be based on Covid positivity rate and the availability of oxygen beds in the state. The state government on Friday issued a five-level restriction plan to reopen the state, which is under a lockdown induced by the devastating second COVID-19 wave over the last few weeks. The degree of relaxation has been decided as per the level of severity of Covid-19 in those districts. According to the guidelines, the situation will be assessed every Thursday by the Public Health Department.

Twitter removes 'verified' blue badge symbol from VP Venkaiah Naidu's account
In an incident that shows that Twitter can withdraw the blue verified badge against any verified account irrespective of the importance of the position of the account holder, the social media platform removed the blue badge from the personal Twitter handle of Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu, @MVenkaiahNaidu, on Saturday. Although, the official handle of the Vice President of India @VPSecretariat continues to have the blue badge.

Himachal BJP MLA Narinder Bragta dies of post-Covid complications
Senior BJP Himachal Pradesh MLA and two-time former minister, Narinder Bragta died on Saturday due to post-Covid complications at the PGI Hospital in Chandigarh, his family said. Three-time legislator Bragta, a prominent apple grower, was currently the Chief Whip of the party in the Vidhan Sabha, with the rank of a Cabinet minister. He was 69.

The Delhi University will provide full fee waiver to students who lost one or both parents to the coronavirus infection, officials said on Friday. The university has written to its colleges to conduct a survey and prepare a list of such students.
