Amarinder vs Sidhu: 3-member Congress panel to meet Punjab MLAs today

The three-member Congress committee, constituted by party's interim president Sonia Gandhi, will meet the Punjab MLAs to end factionalism in the state ahead of Assembly polls. The panel, led by Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, will look into an internal feud as the political battle between Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu has resulted in causing damages to the party's electoral prospect. Punjab will go to the polls early next year.

J&K issues fresh COVID-19 curbs. Check complete guidelines

Jammu and Kashmir administration on Sunday issued fresh COVID-related restrictions, with some relaxations in the Union Territory (UT) to be implemented from tomorrow until further orders. The COVID-19 death toll in Jammu and Kashmir rose to 3,870 on Sunday with 29 more fatalities, while 2,256 new cases pushed the infection count to 2,88,940, officials said. Of the fresh cases, 823 were from the Jammu division and 1,433 were from the Kashmir division, they said.

Delhi unlock process begins from today. All you need to know

The process of lifting the lockdown gradually in the capital will begin from today, starting with the resumption of construction activities and the reopening of factories for a week. In an earlier announcement, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said the phase-wise unlocking process in Delhi will begin after over six weeks of lockdown enforced in view of the second wave of COVID-19. Noting that Delhi somehow gained control over the second wave of COVID-19 with the positivity rate coming down to 1.5 per cent, the chief minister said the fight against the deadly disease has not ended yet.

Mehul Choksi moved to government quarantine facility in Dominica, say sources

Fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi has been moved to the government quarantine facility in Dominica, according to sources on Sunday. On Saturday, pictures of Choksi released by Antigua Newsroom showed him behind bars and with injuries on his hands and a swollen and bruised left eye. These were the first public pictures of Choksi, who had reportedly gone missing on Sunday (May 23) evening. He was later apprehended by Dominica Police on Wednesday and had been in their custody since then.
