Provide compensatory jobs or salary to dependents of deceased teachers: GSTA to Delhi govt

Government School Teachers Association (GSTA) on Saturday demanded Delhi government salaries for the dependents of COVID-deceased teachers who are too young to be eligible for compensatory jobs till they become old enough to be eligible. The GSTA wrote a letter to Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodiya and requested to consider their demands.

Karnataka launches 'CM Bala Seva Scheme' to help children orphaned due to COVID-19

After the second Covid wave hit hard leaving many orphans in the process, Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Saturday announced the ‘Chief Minister's Bala Seva Scheme' for the welfare of children orphaned due to Covid -19, including monthly financial assistance of Rs 3,500 for guardians of such children.

Shimla to enforce revised curfew rules, shops to open between 9 am and 2 pm from Monday to Friday

Centre reconstitutes empowered groups for COVID management

The Centre on Saturday reconstituted the six empowered groups into ten in order to tackle the current COVID-19 situation in the country. The Centre formed panels of Emergency Management Plan and Strategy, Emergency Response Capabilities, Augmenting Human Resources and Capacity Building, Oxygen, Vaccination, Testing, Partnerships, Information Communication and Public Engagement, Economic and Welfare Measures, and Pandemic Response and Coordination.

Centre asks states to take action against institutions giving Covid vaccination package with hotels

The Centre has asked states and union territories to initiate legal or administrative action against institutions which are giving package for Covid vaccination in collaboration with hotels in violation of prescribed guidelines. In a letter to all states and UTs, Additional Secretary to Health ministry Manohar Agnani said it has come to the notice of the Union health ministry that some private hospitals are giving package for Covid vaccination in collaboration with some hotels, which is against the guidelines issued for the National Covid Vaccination Program.

32 kids orphaned in Covid pandemic in Delhi: Child rights panel chief

The Delhi child rights panel has identified 32 children who have been orphaned during the Covid pandemic in the national capital. Ten more children, living with single parents, have lost them, said Commission for Protection of Child Rights chief Anurag Kundu.
