'Won't step back': JP Nadda vows to eliminate political violence, appeasement from West Bengal

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) national president JP Nadda on Wednesday slammed the Trinamool Congress dispensation over widespread violence in West Bengal that claimed the lives of 9 party workers. Nadda, who arrived here yesterday on a two-day visit, lauded the patience of the BJP workers and said that their sacrifice will not go in vain. He asked BJP MLAs and workers to play the role of a constructive opposition in the state and expose those indulging in violence and killing innocent people.

Centre moves SC against Delhi HC's contempt notice over oxygen supply, hearing shortly

COVID-dedicated DRDO hospital with 500 beds opens in Lucknow

The crisis of hospital facilities in Lucknow will ease to an extent on Wednesday when the 500-bed makeshift Covid hospital set up by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) at Awadh Shilpgram on Shaheed Path becomes operational. The hospital will start functioning almost a fortnight after DRDO stepped in to set up the facility at the instance of Lucknow MP and defence minister Rajnath Singh. With the addition of 500 beds, the city will now have 7,000 beds for Covid patients, though most of them are occupied.
