BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari's convoy attacked after Nandigram victory, office sets on fire
Tension prevailed in Nadigram a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party alleged that its leader Suvendu Adhikari's convoy was attacked in Haldia and one of its offices in Nandigram was set on fire allegedly by Trinamool Congress workers. The saffron party claimed that TMC workers resorted to violence follwing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's defeat at the hands of Adhikari. Mamata lost to her ex-aide by a margin of 1,956 votes.

The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has demanded help from the Army and the Centre to ramp up transportation of medical oxygen in the city. Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the city hospitals are still facing shortages despite the Centre increasing the quota of medical oxygen to 590 MT.

Mamata Banerjee retains power for third time in West Bengal: Who said what
West Bengal assembly election results 2021: The Trinamool Congress led by country's only woman chief minister Mamata Banerjee retained power in West Bengal for the third time, winning 214 seats out of the 292 seats that went to the polls. However, in an ironic twist, the chief minister herself lost to BJP-leader Suvendu Adhikari in latter's stronghold Nandigram. Bharatiya Janata Party has won 76 seats. For the first time, the state assembly will have no representation from either Congress or Left.
