Gurugram: 25-year-old man commits suicide after failing to get oxygen cylinder

A 25-year-old man in Haryana has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in a public park opposite an oxygen gas plant in Manesar on Saturday, after he failed to get oxygen cylinder for one of his relatives.

Supreme Court refuses to stay counting of votes for UP panchayat polls

The Supreme Court on Saturday refused to stay the counting of votes for panchayat polls in Uttar Pradesh. The apex court also said no victory rallies shall be permitted during the counting, beginning on Sunday, or after the process is over. The State Election Commission, it said will fasten responsibility on gazetted officers for the observance of COVID-19 protocols at counting centers.

Centre releases Rs 8,873.6 cr fund to states to fight COVID-19

The Finance Ministry has released an amount of Rs 8,873.6 crore in advance towards central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for FY22 to help states in their fight against COVID-19.
