Manmohan Singh's condition stable: Harsh Vardhan

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Tuesday said former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is in a stable condition at AIIMS. Singh was admitted to AIIMS on Monday after testing Covid positive. "Followed up on Dr Manmohan Singh Ji's health with the medical team attending to him at AIIMS, Delhi. His condition is stable. Best possible care is being provided to him. We all pray for his quick recovery," Harsh Vardhan tweeted.

CR man 'out-races' speeding train to save kid in Thane

The life of a young boy, who had fallen on the railway track in Thane was saved by a Central Railway employee who raced an oncoming express train. According to the details, the incident occurred on April 17 at Vangani Station of Central Railway in Thane and Pointsman Mayur Shelke's feat earned him an appreciative tweet from Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

COVID-19: How a Delhi cop's swift action averted tragedy at hospital short on oxygen supply

Promptness shown by a Delhi Police official in arranging oxygen cylinders for Covid-19 patients helped in saving as many as 235 lives. Additional commissioner of police (outer) Sudhanshu Dhama arranged 40 oxygen cylinders and delivered them at a hospital in Paschim Vihar area of the national capital.

India records 2,59,170 new COVID cases, 1,761 deaths in last 24 hours

India on Tuesday recorded 2,59,170 new cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 1,761 deaths due to the infection. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry, the country saw a total of 1,54,761 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery toll to 1,31,08,582. The total cases of COVID-19 in India have now mounted to 1,53,21,089, with 20,31,977 active cases, the data showed. The total death toll in the country is now at 1,80,530. A  total of 12,71,29,113 people have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in India.

MP's largest COVID-19 care centre set up in Indore

Madhya Pradesh's largest COVID-19 care centre has come up in Indore with various items like clothes for patients, beddings and oxygen machines worth Rs 5 crore donated by people, a senior state official said. The centre, set up within a fortnight, is equipped with beds made out of cardboard which can be easily disposed of after use, MP government's COVID-19 advisory committee member Dr Nishant Khare told reporters on Monday.

Indian Railways cancels several passenger trains - Check full list

In a bid to deal with overcrowding amid spike in Covid-19 cases, Indian Railways has announced to cancel the operations of multiple trains. According to a tweet shared by the Western Railway, a few express trains will remain cancelled till further order. Passengers who have booked tickets in the cancelled trains will be fully refunded.
