The famous Chandni Chowk market in the old Delhi and the wholesale markets in the national capital will remain shut till April 25. The decision was taken by traders and associations in view of unprecedented surge in Covid-19 cases. 
India on Monday recorded 2,73,810 new cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 1,619 fatalities, the Union Health Ministry data stated. According to the data, the total cases in India have now reached 1,50,61,919, with 19,29,329 active cases presently. The total death toll in the country is now at 1,78,769, while the total recoveries are at 1,29,53,821. The Health Ministry data also stated a total of 12,38,52,566 people have so far been vaccinated across the country. 
Crude bombs were reported to be hurled at BJP's camp office and residence of party workers in Panihati of North 24 Parganas, as reported by news agency ANI. BJP candidate Sanmoy Banerjee said, "TMC people have resorted to these attacks as they know they are losing the polls. Police are acting as mere spectators."
Rajasthan Lockdown News: In view of the steep rise in Covid-19 cases, the Rajasthan government has announced a 15-day lockdown starting from Monday and will continue till May 3. The home department, late on Sunday night, issued new guidelines, and the lockdown period has been named 'Public Discipline Fortnight'. All offices except those connected with essential services shall remain closed.

Hong Kong has suspended all flights connecting it with India from April 20 to May 3 amid a surge in Covid-19 cases in the country, aviation industry sources said on Sunday.
