COVID-19: Migrants coming to Uttar Pradesh to be quarantined

All migrant workers coming into Uttar Pradesh, will be required to quarantine. The state government has set up centres in 56 districts where migrant workers are first tested and then those who have no facility to quarantine at home, will be kept in these centres for two weeks.

India records 2,61,500 new COVID cases, over 1,500 fatalities in last 24 hours

India on Sunday recorded 2,61,500 new cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 1,501 fatalities, the Union Health Ministry data stated. According to the data, the total cases in India have now reached 1,47,88,109, with 18,01,316 active cases presently. The total death toll in the country is now at 1,77,150, while the total recoveries are at 1,28,09,643. The Health Ministry data also stated a total of 12,26,22,590 people have so far been vaccinated across the country.

UP govt to treat suspected COVID-19 patients as 'Presumptive Covid' patients

Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday issued an order that patients whose RT-PCR tests are negative but are suspected to be COVID-19 positive will be treated as COVID patients in the category of 'Presumptive Covid'. "Patients whose RT-PCR tests are negative but are suspected to be COVID-19 positive after X-rays, CT scans, blood reports or symptoms or doctor's opinion -- will be treated as COVID patients in category of 'Presumptive Covid'," the official statement said.

Snake charmer who claims to treat COVID patients tests positive for infection

A snake charmer, who claimed to treat coronavirus patients with the help of indigenous medicines, tested positive for the infection in Punjab's Ludhiana on Saturday. COVID-19: Delhi mandates 14-day home quarantine for Kumbh returnees

The Delhi government has issued an order making it mandatory for all residents of Delhi who visit the Kumbh in Haridwar to quarantine themselves at home for fourteen days on return. Anyone who violates the order will face legal action. An order issued by Chief Secretary Vijay Dev states, "All those residents of Delhi, who have visited or are going to visit Kumbh, will be required to compulsory home quarantine themselves for 14 days on arrival to Delhi."
