Mumbai's Jaslok Hospital to be fully dedicated COVID-19 facility

Sharad Pawar discharged from hospital after gall bladder surgery

NCP chief Sharad Pawar, who underwent a gall bladder surgery at the Breach Candy Hospital here three days back, was discharged from the facility on Thursday, party spokesperson Nawab Malik said. The 80-year-old leader underwent laparoscopic surgery (a minimally invasive procedure) at the hospital on Monday.

Petrol, diesel prices slashed after 15 days pause

Fuel prices in the country finally fell on Thursday with oil marketing companies deciding to pass the benefit of softer global oil prices earlier this month to the consumers. Accordingly, pump prices of petrol and diesel fell by 16 paise and 14 paise per litre respectively on Thursday. With this, petrol is now being retailed at Rs 90.40 a litre in Delhi, down from the previous day's level of Rs 90.56 a litre. Similarly, diesel is now priced at Rs 80.73 a litre in the national capital from the earlier level of Rs 80.87 a litre.

Karnataka RTC workers strike enters ninth day, bus services hit

The indefinite strike called by the employees of road transport corporations in Karnataka over wage related issue entered its ninth day on Thursday, continuing to affect bus services across the state. With a stalemate between the government and employees of four transport corporations in the state, over their demand for wages as per the 6th Pay Commission continuing, the majority workers did not turn up for work, resulting in buses remaining off-road, affecting commuters.

Uttar Pradesh sets new quarantine norms for migrant workers amid Covid-19 surge

The Uttar Pradesh government has issued fresh guidelines for migrant working returning to the state from different parts of the country amid the worsening Covid-19 situation. The state has made quarantine mandatory for those showing symptoms of infection for 14 days. Those asymptomatic will have to undergo a mandatory quarantine period of 7 days.
