The weather remained dry and partially cloudy in J&K on Sunday but rain and snow is expected in the evening, said the Meteorological (MeT) Department.

With 93,249 new COVID-19 cases, 513 deaths, India's tally crosses 12.4 million-mark; active cases at 6,91,597

India on Sunday witnessed the biggest daily upsurge in COVID-19 cases with 93,249 new infection and 513 related deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the Union ministry of health and family welfare’s data. With this, the country’s tally has risen to 12,485,509, the health ministry’s dashboard showed at 8am. Meanwhile, with 513 new fatalities, the death toll surged to 1,64,623.

UP: 13 injured as boiler explodes at thermal power plant in Sonbhadra

As many as thirteen labourers were injured following an explosion in a boiler in the Lanco Anpara thermal power plant on Sunday morning. The incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra, where five of the injured labourers were shifted to Varanasi for advanced treatment in a serious condition.

Chhattisgarh: 15 jawans missing, 5 martyred following Naxal encounter in Bijapur

Around 15 security personnel are missing following the encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Saturday. "A reinforcement party has rushed to the encounter spot. Bodies of two jawans have been recovered as of now," Chhattisgarh Police sources said. "23 injured have been admitted to Bijapur hospital and 7 have been admitted to a Raipur hospital," it added.
